  • The BBC has announced that the first ever 6Music Festival will take place at The Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on Friday 28th February and Saturday 1st March. The line-up consists of more than 30 artists and DJs across three stages includingThe National, Damon Albarn, Jake Bugg, Haim, James Blake and Bombay Bicycle Club.

    AEG adds UK Live

    AEG Live will host three one-day pop festivals next year in Sunderland, Ipswich and Weston-super-Mare. The company is expanding its North East Live brand to become UK Live and the event will be held at Sunderland's Stadium Of Light on June 22, East CoastLive at Ipswich Chantry Park on June 28 and South West Live at Weston-super-Mare Beach on June 29.
  • A study conducted by consumer group Which? is claiming that major ticketing companies including Ticketmaster and See Tickets are charging up to almost 40% more for music, theatre and comedy tickets through fees and ‘hidden charges’.
  • Arctic Monkeys, Latitude and former Generator clients Kendal Calling were amongst the winners at this year’s UK Festival Awards. Taking place at The Roundhouse venue in London on Monday evening (2nd December) following the conference element of the event, the 10th UKFestival Awards aimed to celebrate the best of the festival industry in 2013- a year in which many considered the sector to bounce back following a uniquely challenging year in 2012.
