Recording can be great fun and many artists prefer the process of recording to playing live as it allows them to be more creative and experiment with different sounds. However, recording can be extremely frustrating, time consuming and sometimes expensive so it’s important to be as prepared as possible.

Although some recordings benefit from the rough and ready sound of cheap equipment, it’s always a good idea to get your hands on the right equipment for the sounds you want. The best bit of advice we can give is to not rely solely on recording equipment and software- always aim to get a good sound at source and you increase your chances of making a great recording.
