Generator are proud to have helped to develop the careers of many young musicians and music businesses. Successful case studies include:

Lulu James

Causing a serious stir throughout the music industry, Lulu worked with Generator throughout 2011 and continues to work alongside Generator tutor and producer Dom Zilla. Lulu’s releases have earned her multiple plays on Radio 1, 6Music and 1Xtra and rave reviews from The Guardian, and the NME. Recently signed to a major label, expect massive things from Lulu who says, "Generator played a vital part in discovering who I am as an artist and songwriter as well putting me in touch with Dom."

Simon Dennis

After taking part in a Play course, Simon progressed on to a trainee role before going on to music college in Leeds. Simon had the opportunity to work, perform and record with a diverse selection of talented young people and emerging artists as well as gaining confidence in his own music and teaching skills. Simon has played with the likes of The Union Choir and Hyde & Beast.

If like Simon you have a passion for teaching music, organising events or the music industry in general, please get in touch to find out about the many opportunities for young trainees, volunteers and steering group members.

Sound Connections is funded by Youth Music

Youth Music is the leading UK charity using music to transform the lives of disadvantaged children and young people. Youth Music supports and develops exemplary music provision at every stage of a young person’s development, whether it’s the first time a mother and baby make music together, or a talented teen’s debut at the Royal Albert Hall.

Youth Music has transformed the landscape of musical opportunity in the UK. Since 1999, over two million children and young people have been reached through all types of music; both in and out of school.
